Top 5 Lessons

  Throughout this year, I have found myself being challenged in a variety of ways. The different projects that we completed allowed  me to broaden my own perspective and help me understand how a  single story can be deceiving. I learned not only how to improve my writing skills, but also gained a new perspective when it comes to understanding other people and their stories. By exploring different forms of writing and  listening to different voices, I was able to learn about relevant topics while simultaneously becoming a stronger writer.  At the beginning of the year, we started off by watching the TED talk The Danger of a Single Story by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, in which she sends a powerful message that would end up becoming the foundation for many of my future writing pieces.
